What’s a Realistic Sell-Through Rate?
- New / Overstock: 85–95%. Items work, often still in original packaging.
- Customer Returns (Electronics): 50–65%. Defect rate is highest here.
- Customer Returns (Apparel): 70–80%. Items rarely “broken.”
- Customer Returns (General): 60–70%. Mix of working and damaged.
- Salvage: 20–40%. Sold knowing many items are unsellable.
