How to Use This Calculator
Enter the asking price of the pallet, the estimated total retail value (often shown on listings as a strikethrough price), your honest expected sell-through rate based on the category and condition, the fee structure of your primary resale platform, and any other costs you’ll incur (freight, storage rental, gas to pick up). The calculator updates live as you type.
What’s a Realistic Sell-Through Rate?
- New / Overstock: 85β95%. Items work, often still in original packaging.
- Customer Returns (Electronics): 50β65%. Defect rate is highest here.
- Customer Returns (Apparel): 70β80%. Items rarely “broken.”
- Customer Returns (General): 60β70%. Mix of working and damaged.
- Salvage: 20β40%. Sold knowing many items are unsellable.
If you’re new, multiply your expected sell-through by 0.85 to give yourself a margin of error. Most first-time buyers overestimate.
